How to use keyboard shortcuts in locator maps

To work faster with markers in your Datawrapper locator maps, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts.

Note that on a Mac, is the Command key. On Windows or Linux, use Ctrl.

Actions

D Duplicate all selected markers or groups in place
⌘ + C Copy all selected markers or groups
⌘ + V Paste all selected markers or groups
Backspace
Delete
⌘ + Backspace
⌘ + Delete
Delete all selected markers or groups
⌘ + G Group all selected markers or groups
⌘ + Shift + G Ungroup all selected groups
⌘ + Shift + C Copy the style of a selected marker
⌘ + Shift + V Paste the copied style to all selected markers
H Hide or unhide selected markers or groups
L Lock or unlock selected markers or groups
⌘ + F Search for markers. Press again to trigger the native browser search instead

Moving the focus or highlight

Tab
Shift + Tab
Move the focus forward or backward, e.g. between the options of the currently highlighted marker
Move the highlight to the marker above or below
⌘ + ↑
⌘ + ↓
Home End
Move the highlight to the first or last marker
Move the highlight between the markers as a whole and any action buttons it contains.
If a group is focused, then expands it if collapsed and collapses it if expanded.

Selecting items

Enter Space Select or deselect the highlighted marker
⌘ + Enter
⌘ + Space
Select or deselect the highlighted marker without affecting other selected markers (multi-select)
Shift + Enter
Shift + Space
Select or deselect the highlighted marker without affecting other selected markers (multi-select) even when an action button and not the marker itself is focused
⌘ + A Select all markers
Escape Deselect all markers
Shift + ↑
Shift + ↓
Expand or shrink the selection and move the highlight to the newly selected markers
Shift + ←
Shift + →
Move the selection inwards or outwards of groups and move the highlight to the first marker of the new selection

Reordering list items

⌘ + Shift + ↑
⌘ + Shift + ↓
Move all selected markers one step up or downr
