Welcome back to the 246th edition of Data Vis Dispatch! Every week, we’ll be publishing a collection of the best small and large data visualizations we find, especially from news organizations — to celebrate data journalism, data visualization, simple charts, elaborate maps, and their creators.

Recurring topics this week include an unusually fast Ebola outbreak, taxing extreme wealth, and the challenges of caregiving in a super-aged society.

This week, the spotlight is on Central Africa, a region that faces a number of challenges. Currently, the most severe: an unusually fast outbreak of Ebola, a serious, often fatal disease, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. While deadly violence has decreased in Burkina Faso, Nigeria has seen a sharp rise in recent years.

In Europe, levels of trust differ among the youth. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom reflects on local election results — and what is perceived to be Britain's second city.

The European Correspondent: "A 16-year-old in Copenhagen once might have answered without hesitation: yes, strangers can be trusted. Today, the answer is less positive. Once the most trusting youth in Europe, Danish teenagers now rank below those in Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, and many others. Taxing extreme wealth is a hot topic in the U.K. and California, even though proposed changes would affect very few people.
